GDPR and your privacy

You’ll see a lot of this this month as the EU General Data Protection Regulation becomes law. I want to be really clear here though, I don’t need or want to monetise this site. I don’t knowingly display ads, unless you count recommending a device. I certainly don’t get any money or benefit from this site – I get a lot of hits and it still costs pennies to run. I don’t collect or use your personal information, although occasionally I may email you if you have an interesting comment. That’s never happenned, but if something needs discussing I might 🙂

  • This site does not collect or use your personal data.
  • The web platform may use cookies and IP addresses to track traffic.
  • When posting a comment, you are required to use a valid email address. This is solely for the purpose of spam prevention. Your email address will not be visible to other visitors to the site, and I certainly won’t be selling or passing on this information in any way. If you have a comment but do not wish to submit your email address, please contact me via social media (@gpsrumors) and I will happily post for you without an email address – I will not retain your social media details in this scenario.
  • If you have posted previously on the site and wish to remove your personal details, please contact me via social media (@gpsrumors) and I will remove all instances of your personal details from the database. The comment will remain unless you specifically request removal of that too.
  • The site is regularly updated to the latest version of code to prevent any security breaches. If a breach is found I will post immediately, although I cannot think of a scenario where you would be negatively affected by this since the only personal data on the database is your email. There isn’t even a password to exploit!
